The December 2013 issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, has a taste of Tampa. The Holiday Collection Tower from Toffee to Go, a retailer and manufacturer of handmade toffee in South Tampa, popped up on this year’s “Oprah’s Favorite Things,” a dream co-owner Lisa Schalk has had since she and her husband, Jim, started the company 11 years ago...
Superstar Oprah Winfrey released the list on Tuesday. It features her “handpicked holiday gifts,” from games and food items to clothing and services.
In addition to the standard holiday increase in gift orders, the Schalks are bracing for the “Oprah effect” by increasing staff and other resources, including phone lines and of course, upping the toffee production.
Toffee to Go was recently named the No. 1 business gift/promotional item vendor in the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 2013 Best in the Biz: Readers’ Choice Awards.
